Community Groups

Jesus has designed the church to be a beautiful and practical expression of community. Community is people doing life together, meeting each others’ needs, helping each other grow in faith, and inviting others into the experience of Christ’s Community. Our community groups provide a way for that life together to be experienced through what we call growing together and going together. We are to grow together into the image of Christ and we are to go together proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Community Groups meet at various locations around the church on Thursday evenings or Sunday afternoon/evenings. Groups have “Hosts” that coordinate the meeting but every member is responsible for participation and spiritual growth.

Grace Abounds

Grace Abounds Addiction Recovery is a meeting for “messed up people who need grace.” We confess that truth every week at our meeting because we need God’s rescuing and transforming grace every day in our lives.

Grace Abounds is a biblical counseling addiction meeting for anyone who struggles with enslaving addictions or for those who are suffering and need hope as they seek to follow Jesus in a fallen world. We want to offer Christ-centered care and support in whatever situation you find yourself in.

Our meeting runs from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and consists of a brief teaching followed by men’s & women’s breakout groups. The third Tuesday of each month we have a meal at 6:30 p.m. followed by a testimony at 7:00 p.m.

If you can’t be here in person, we livestream the teaching portion each week.

Our Sunday morning children’s ministry is called Cornerstone Kids. Because we believe that Scripture is clear that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children, our children’s ministry partners with parents in the pursuit of making young disciples who are on mission with the church to delight in, display, and declare the gospel. We offer classes for children 2-years-old through 5th grade. Our staff is composed primarily of the parents of our church, who serve on a rotating basis

Your Child’s Safety

The safety of your children is a priority to us. All children and parents are checked in at the beginning and end of every service through an identification numbering system to ensure their safety. Additionally, we require of all volunteers to go through mandatory background checks and additional training with MinistrySafe.

Parenting Ministry

Please join us for this gathering of parents and kids ages 3-8 (younger and older are welcome too).

The children will be led in a simple lesson. And parents will be equipped with tools to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6) and how to be about the parental calling of talking about the things of God “when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise (Deuteronomy 6:7).

Let’s hold one another accountable to lead our kids to Jesus.

Youth Ministry

In our Youth ministry, we partner with parents to build and mature a strong, gospel-centered foundation in our students through worship in song, the preaching of the Word of God, and living out biblical community in discussion groups. Our hope is to partner with parents in helping students go deeper with each other, with their leaders, and, most importantly, with God.

Each month we gather together for Youth Worship Nights, where we worship in song, receive topical biblical teaching, and engage one another in discussion breakouts. We also gather the Middle School students and High School students separately once a month for study nights. Each study night includes games, food, a short teaching time, and a book discussion aimed at strengthening each student in their faith and understanding of God’s Word.

Cornerstone Youth also hosts a number of social events throughout the year. For more information on upcoming events please visit the church calendar.

Women’s Ministry

The women’s Bible study beginning in January is the Book of Philippians. We will be using the Precept Bible study method which is a tool to help you thoroughly observe the text so that you can see what it is saying and apply it to your life. Our ultimate aim in this study is to know God deeply through His word and to live differently in obedience to it. No matter what season you’re in or how experienced you are with studying the Bible, there is a place for you!

There are three different class times and two different formats available:

Mondays 6:30pm via Zoom

Tuesday 9:30am & 6:30pm in-person at Cedar Valley Church, 8600 Bloomington Ave., Bloomington MN. For more information or to register, please contact Kim Erickson: whollydevoted@frontiernet.net.

See events calendar for details.

Join us as we feast on food (please bring something to share) and feast on the word and fellowship at our quarterly women’s gathering.

This year’s theme is Isaiah 8:20: “To the Teaching and to the Testimony!” Each morning will include worship, a devotional, and a testimony all intended to build you up and bring glory to Christ.

Feel free to bring guests!

See events calendar for details.

In obedience to Titus 2:3-5, young moms gather to be taught and encouraged and helped by seasoned moms to not merely endure motherhood, but to embrace and love it as God’s high calling for his great glory and the good of our children.

We meet monthly on Mondays at 5:00 p.m. Please visit the church events calendar for details.

Men’s Ministry

We gather as men to eat great food, enjoy biblical fellowship, and feast together on God’s word. See events calendar for details.
