Every Sunday morning it is our joy to gather together as the church in order to express our gratitude and profound love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, in a service we refer to as the “Sunday Celebration.”
Our Sunday Celebration provides the context where we encounter God together through the Word of God proclaimed in song, prayer, and preaching. We also gather to encourage one another, to stir up one another to love and good works, and participate in Spirit-empowered ministry with the body of Christ.
It would be a privilege and an honor to have you join us for our Sunday Celebration! We trust that God will meet you in a fresh way as we celebrate the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ together.
Here Are Some Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in the service?
The service (we call it the Sunday Celebration) is about 90 minutes and is basically divided into two halves. For the first half, we worship in song and then have a brief welcome and announcements. The second half consists of worshipful preaching from the Bible. After the close of the service, there is time for prayer and extended greetings.
As a guest, will you make me raise my hand or stand up during the service?
We do not ask our guests to identify themselves during the service. Our church culture is warm and welcoming, so we'd expect you to be greeted before and after the service by our members. If you would like to ask questions about the church or identify yourself as a visitor, we would invite you to our Welcome Center inside the front doors and to your left.
What should I wear?
At Cornerstone, we are serious about our Savior and his church, but that doesn’t mean you have to get dressed up, even for holiday services. Most people at our services are dressed casually, particularly during the summer when some will come in shorts.
How do I get to your service?
You can find us at 500 East Travelers Trail, Burnsville. Directions here.
Where do I park?
You can park in front of the building or on the sides of the building.
When should I arrive?
While the service starts at 10:00am, we encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early to enjoy free coffee and breakfast refreshments at our Coffee Café. If you have kids, you'll want to arrive early to get them safely registered and checked into Cornerstone Kids.
Where do my kids go?
For parents who are interested, we would love to serve you by caring for your children in our children’s ministry, Cornerstone Kids. Children of nursery-age (1-4 years) are cared for throughout the entire service. Children in kindergarten through 5th grade are dismissed to classrooms during the sermon portion of the service.
The safety of your children is a priority to us. All children and parents are checked in at the beginning and end of every service through an identification numbering system to ensure their safety. Additionally, we require all volunteers to be members in good standing, to go through mandatory background checks, additional training, and pastoral approval.
Who can I ask for help?
Our desire is to offer help and answer questions at our Welcome Center just inside the main entrance. There are also signs throughout the building to direct you to restrooms, children’s check-in, and the auditorium where the service is held.
